The Power of Love
Authors note: Snape and Lily are together in this. In canon, Lily's love was powerful enough to protect Harry from the killing curse, and Snape's love was strong enough that he gave his life for Lily. In HP love is a very powerful thing. We see in Voldemort what lack of love can do to a person, too. This short story explores other ways the power of love might have possibly changed things, had characters made different choicesfor instance, had Lily and Snape been together. Just my silly thoughts. A week later Lily was woken up by raised voices. Severus was arguing with a man. She got dressed quickly, wishing she had her wand. She went down to the dining room Severus and the man were arguing in an adjoining room. The door was slightly open.
'Professor you realize it's an official interrogation?'
Severus Snape nodded stiffly. Lily could see the speaker was wearing Auror robes.
'Well' a sigh 'it took me some time to determine you're still alive, sir, and you're probably the only person that can shed some light on the matter'
'What matter?' Sev asked icily.

Lying to Lily
As Severus Snape sat by his fire reading a book, he could hear Jessie breathing deeply in her slumber in her bedroom. He was just about to turn the page when something caught his eye outside his window. He stood and crossed the room, drawing back the curtains ever so slightly.
Outside, as all else was still, a shimmering white doe made its way toward Severus' home. It passed easily through the window pane and stood in front of Severus.
Lily's soft voice filled the room from the doe. "Severus, I'm going to
